Center for the Study of the Land of Israel |
The staff of the Center for the Study of the Land of Israel is charged with developing courses which are held throughout Israel in partnership with local authorities and regional councils in nine different locations, from Tel Hai in the north to Beer Sheva in the south. These courses are aimed at the general public and around 2000 adult participants take part in them annually. In Jerusalem, the center of Yad Ben-Zvi’s cultural activity, we hold six courses for adults in various formats. Three morning and afternoon classes make up a weekly schedule of 2-3 consecutive lectures and three courses of a single lecture which are held in the evening every two weeks. A wide variety of topics are addressed in these courses, such as ancient and modern history, Bible studies and more. In addition, together with the Ministry of Tourism, tour guide courses are also held in Jerusalem. Ten courses depart from Jerusalem to various destinations all over Israel and acquaint the participants with fascinating sites, unique people and a variety of subjects, such as gastronomy, music and architecture. An annual three-day tour marathon is held in Jerusalem over the course of one weekend, and consists of more than one hundred unique tours guided by Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi’s best tour guides.
