Membership

New members
Membership in the Society is open to anyone with an active scholarly interest in medieval Judaeo-Arabic.
Members pay dues of $40.00 biennially. Graduate students may join as student members at a rate of $20.00 biennially. Applications from student members must also be supported by a referee (such as a doctoral advisor or a member of the Society).
The current term of membership runs from 1 September 2009 until the next SJAS conference, which will
be held in July 2011 in Cambridge, England.

How to join
Send a one-paragraph statement of your scholarly research as it relates to medieval Judaeo-Arabic to the Secretary-Treasurer of the SJAS, Dr Marina Rustow, by email, mrustow{at}jhu.edu.
If you are a student, ask your referee to send a letter of support to Dr Marina Rustow by email, mrustow{at}jhu.edu.
Once your application is approved, you will be placed on the electronic mailing list and also be asked to
pay dues.

Payment
Members may pay dues in one of two ways.
Mail or deliver the amount in USD or NIS to the administrative staff of the Ben-Zvi Institute. Checks must be made out to the Society for Judaeo-Arabic Studies. (Recommended for members with North American or Israeli bank accounts.)
Have your bank deposit the amount directly in US dollars into the SJAS bank account and mail or e-mail proof of payment to the SJAS secretariat. (Recommended for members with European bank accounts;
write to the Secretary-Treasurer for details.)
