“Sing Us a Song of Zion” – Psalms and songs on Mount Zion and in the Jewish Quarter

Join us for a tour accompanied by the music of flutes, from King David through the Levites’ Temple songs to various Hasidic melodies from the Book of Psalms.

The world of music and song, which is so central to Hasidism today, had an important role in ancient times, inspired by the Shekhina in the days of David and Saul and the songs of Levites when they worshipped at the Temple.

Through melodies old and new, liturgical song and poetry, we will try to understand a chapter of Jerusalem’s history. We will get a sense of Jewish longing and yearning for this city across the generations, and glimpse some of the city’s special magic.
