“Between Heaven and Earth” – Tour the rooftops of the Old City
Sightsee from above the Old City’s roofs, courtyards, and alleyways for a different view of Earthly Jerusalem.
Let us climb up, above the narrow alleyways of Jerusalem, to the city’s rooftops, which offer breathtaking panoramas. The air feels pure here, and it fills us with reverence for the rooftops, towers, and citadels of a city sanctified by three religions.
Throughout this tour we will try to understand the city’s holiness – its meaning and magnetism for millions of believers worldwide. We will watch the city from a bird’s-eye view, far from the buzz of the masses and crowded city streets. A view from above will give us a different perspective of the eternal city.
From up here, we can gaze on the Temple Mount, we can visit a tiny Ethiopian village on the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and we can even find Viennese strudel in the heart of the Orient.
Among the sites of the tour are David’s Tomb, Aish Hatorah Yeshiva, rooftop views, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Hashimi Hotel, and the Austrian Hospice.
The tour may be combined with:
- Meeting a family that resides in the Jewish Quarter
- Visiting a traditional tahina factory
